Luggage Storage in Bellagio
Bellagio is the one town on the lake with round-the-clock luggage storage, right where you land. It is also the town where storing your bags helps least, because the problem in Bellagio was never the bags sitting still. It was the stairs.
The short answer
- A few hours between ferries: the automated deposit on the waterfront at Piazza Mazzini, open 24/7, card only.
- A full day, cheapest per bag: an app-based partner point, about €5 a bag, but both shut in the early evening.

The 24/7 deposit at Piazza Mazzini
There is an automated luggage deposit on the Bellagio waterfront, at the boat terminal in Piazza Mazzini. It is the only round-the-clock deposit we know of on the lake, which matters when the last ferry is late and every shop in town has shut.
It prices by bag size and by how long you leave it. The comune's tourist portal publishes the rates: €2 an hour for a small or medium box and €3 for a large or extra-large, rising to €16 and €24 for a full day. It takes cards only, so don't arrive with cash and a plan.
Where it wins: you arrive by boat, you have five hours, you want to walk up to Villa Melzi and eat lunch. Drop, go, collect, leave. Nothing beats it.
Where it doesn't: a full day for a family of four in high season adds up fast, and it still leaves your bags at the bottom of the town when your room is at the top.
Partner points and your own hotel
Radical Storage lists two partner points in Bellagio, both around €5 a bag for the day: one at Piazza del Porto 1, open 08:30 to 19:00, and one at Via Valassina 103, open 09:00 to 18:00. Cheaper than the lockers for a full day, and fine for a walk and a long lunch. Both shut in the early evening, so they are no use for a departure that ends after dinner.
Your own hotel or B&B remains the most underused option in Bellagio. Most will hold your luggage free on checkout day, and many will take it before check-in too. Ask at reception when you book. Nobody advertises it because nobody makes money from it.
One place that will not help: the tourist Infopoint. It is at Piazza della Chiesa 14, up in the old town rather than by the water, it opens 09:00 to 13:00 and 14:00 to 18:00, and it does not offer a luggage service.
The stairs are the real problem
Bellagio is built as a set of stepped alleys climbing from the water. They are the reason people photograph the town and the reason they curse it forty minutes later with a 23-kilo case and no lift in sight. Cars cannot go up them. Taxis stop at the bottom. A wheeled suitcase is dead weight on a staircase.
This is why storage is the wrong tool for most Bellagio arrivals. Putting a bag in a locker at the pier does not get it to a room three flights of steps above the pier, and you will make that climb twice instead of once.

Bags that need to move, not sit
Most people searching for storage in Bellagio don't actually want storage. They want their bags to be somewhere else, later, without them doing the carrying. That is a different service and it costs about the same.
We collect from the pier, the hotel, the villa or an apartment at the top of the steps, and deliver to wherever you sleep next: Varenna, Menaggio, Como, Milan, Malpensa. You take the ferry with a camera and nothing else. Oversized items included, everything insured, from €5 a bag.
For a group it is rarely a close call. Six bags stored for a day, plus the per-piece luggage charge on the ferry, plus the porter you end up hiring for the stairs, costs more than having them driven across.

Can you move our bags from Bellagio to Varenna or Menaggio?
